Angie Kamath is an educational professional serving as the Dean of the NYU School of Professional Studies (NYU SPS). She leads a state-of-the-art institution dedicated to continuing education and applied learning. Throughout her tenure, Angie has overseen the creation of many different degree paths, including BS, BA, and MA offerings. Because of this extensive knowledge, the NYC Mayor’s Office granted her two major appointments in 2022. She became a member of the Mayor’s “Future of Workers Task Force.” This group focuses on creating a more effective, efficient modern job market in NYC. It also addresses the critical needs of workers who lack formal advocacy.
During the same year, she joined the “New” New York Panel. This blue-ribbon commission focuses on rethinking commercial districts and creating a stronger regional infrastructure. It also provides networks to develop local talent and supports the ecosystems of high-growth industries.
Executive and Public Service Background
Dean Kamath has spent her career in high-level roles across public administration, higher education networks, and social impact organizations. Before joining NYU, she served as the University Dean of Continuing Education and Workforce Development at the City University of New York (CUNY).
In this capacity, she worked collaboratively with CUNY’s extensive network of 24 senior and community colleges. She successfully planned, funded, and developed pathways to applied learning, internships, and full-time employment opportunities. These programs directly supported students entering high-demand areas like health care and information technology.
