Brian Clark

Brian Clark

Brian Clark is a retired financial executive, motivational speaker, and former vice president at Euro Brokers who performed an amazing act of heroism on September 11, 2001. Clark was working on the 84th floor of the South Tower (World Trade Center 2), and he is deemed one of just 18 people who were either within or above the impact location and were able to survive the collapse of the building.

On September 11, 2001, when United Airlines Flight 175 hit floors 77 through 85, Clark started the process of escape using Stairwell A. While walking through the stairwell full of smoke and using a flashlight, Clark heard the calls of Stanley Praimnath, who was an assistant vice president of Fuji Bank and was trapped under debris on the 81st floor. Following the sounds, Clark managed to locate Praimnath, but the two men were separated by a seemingly immovable wall. Standing on an upturned desk, Clark managed to help Praimnath climb up and over the wall. After saving Stanley, they had a quick moment of understanding, calling each other brothers, which was a time of trust in each other.

The two men used Stairway A to leave the building, as it was the only stairwell available between floors 77 and 86. After this tragic incident, Clark has spent a significant amount of his time sharing his experience of resilience and human brotherhood.
