The AREA Method was born out of Cheryl’s 20 years of experience as an award-winning investigative journalist for top publications like the New York Times, Business Review, Foreign Policy, and Barron’s. In the present day, Cheryl’s research focuses primarily on leadership amid uncertainty and strategic judgment in the age of artificial intelligence.

She is a contributing editor for Harvard Business Review Press and an often-invited speaker, including a TEDx talk that received a large audience.
Cheryl has written four books on complex problem solving, including Problem Solved, Investing in Financial Research, and Problem Solver: Maximizing Your Strengths to Make Better Decisions. Her newest book, entitled The Human Edge: Smarter Decisions in the Age of AI, is focused on preserving and increasing human agency and teaching judgment skills amid innovations in technology.
