About

Dr. John Torrens is an award-winning Professor of Entrepreneurial Practice at Syracuse University’s Whitman School of Management. He is also a three-time Inc. 5000 entrepreneur. For 25 years, he has led high-growth companies across the healthcare and education sectors. Through this hands-on experience, he became an expert in building high-performing teams, raising capital, and executing M&A deals. Currently, Dr. Torrens serves as the President of Sprout Therapy Group. He has also invested in early-stage cannabis companies since 2017.

Beyond the classroom, Dr. Torrens works as a keynote speaker and executive education instructor. He specializes heavily in corporate strategy and innovation. He is deeply passionate about the psychology of innovators. His viral TEDx talk and acclaimed book, Lightning in a Bottle, show how entrepreneurs can harness ADHD as a superpower.

Dr. Torrens remains highly active in the global business community. He is a long-standing member of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO) and previously served on its International Board of Directors. Today, he hosts the popular podcast, The Total Entrepreneur. On the show, he guides high-performers to redefine success across mind, body, spirit, and business.
