About
Erin Adkins serves as the Chief Strategy Officer for UCLA Athletics, where she provides executive leadership for enterprise-wide strategic planning, organizational growth, governance, and long-term sustainability initiatives supporting UCLA’s nationally competitive Division I athletics program. In this role, Adkins advises the Director of Athletics, senior university leadership, and external stakeholders on high-impact matters, including institutional strategy, NIL and revenue sharing, NCAA governance, legislative affairs, and long-range operational planning. Adkins also serves as the sports administrator for UCLA Football.
Since joining UCLA Athletics in 2018, Adkins has played a significant leadership role in navigating the rapidly evolving collegiate athletics landscape. Her work includes strategic planning, governance engagement, operational oversight, and cross-campus collaboration focused on sustaining competitive excellence and enhancing the student-athlete experience.
Before UCLA, Adkins served as Assistant Athletic Director of Compliance at Vanderbilt University from 2015 to 2018, where she oversaw all NCAA and SEC compliance operations and served as the sport administrator for women’s swimming and diving. She began her athletics administration career at the University of San Diego, serving in compliance and academic administration roles from 2009 to 2015.
Adkins earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in political science with a minor in business administration from the University of Arizona in 2006. She later earned her juris doctorate from California Western School of Law and was admitted to the California State Bar in 2010. A Los Angeles native, Adkins grew up attending events at the Rose Bowl and Pauley Pavilion, experiences that helped shape her lifelong connection to collegiate athletics.
