About
Known to many as “Prof C,” J. Scott Christianson is an award-winning author, technology strategist, and Associate Teaching Professor Emeritus at the University of Missouri, where he previously directed the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation. Throughout his career, he has dedicated himself to demystifying emerging technologies like artificial intelligence, blockchain, and the Internet of Things, transforming complex concepts into actionable insights for global audiences—completely free of hype.
Scott’s educational approach is grounded in more than two decades of hands-on industry experience as the founder of Kaleidoscope Consulting, where he spearheaded major technology rollouts, information security initiatives, and early video conferencing systems. This background shaped his core philosophy: the greatest challenge in technology isn’t technical, but rather helping people understand how these tools impact their organizations and futures.
A widely featured media expert and author of books such as Virtual Classrooms, Scott collaborates with international partners across Ukraine, South Africa, and beyond while advising startups, nonprofits, and established companies worldwide. His contributions to higher education have earned him numerous top honors, including the national UPCEA Excellence in Teaching Award, the Raymond and Mary Ann O’Brien Excellence in Teaching Award, and the Bruce and Pam Walker Outstanding Faculty Service Award.
