PODCAST EPISODE: The Wild West of Information

PODCAST SCORE: The Jungle of Bias

Narrative Overview

During this episode, we plan to have an important discussion about the mechanisms of new media, shaping narratives, and imparting media literacy with an experienced media bias consultant, author, and editor, Julie Mastrine. She shares important information about the impact of corporate media structure, algorithmic curation, and structural biases on the ideas of the public.

The discussion then moves to the structural differences that exist between objective journalism and narrative journalism and how media literacy should be applied for the benefit of businessmen and ordinary consumers. Mastrine will present some specific systems aimed at recognizing bias and dealing with institutions’ echo chambers. Overall, the discussion helps listeners gain necessary tools to distinguish between objective reality and narratives created by the media, achieving genuine transparency in communicating with people.
